This is a FTP client that can take care of secure transfers also.
TurboFTP is a secure FTP client that has a whole range of useful features. Besides standard FTP, it can also support secure FTP over SSL/TLS and SFTP over SSH2. Transfers are supported by features like resumable downloads and uploads, recursive remote directory delete, bookmarks, filtering and transfer of files larger than 4GB, etc. It is able to support implicit and explicit protection of your data over insecure network. Interruptions and stalls are managed by mechanisms like Keep Alive and Auto Dial. This can sustain one of the important functions for organizations and businesses to remotely and securely backup data on a regular basis. The interface makes it very easy to manage folders/directories at the work site and the remote location. You can simply drag and drop files from one box to the other representing the two location. Other controls are very intuitive.
The GUI has a task scheduler that offers scheduled FTP transfer, uni- and bi-directional synchronization capabilities. It can send email alerts when tasks scheduled are completed. Multiple scheduled transfer tasks can run as Windows service taking care of regular file transfer. The tool will take care of dependency between tasks, run different dial-up connections for individual tasks. The completion of transfers can be used to trigger running programs before or after a scheduled job. The ability to watch for a hot folder will ensure sync by immediately transferring the new file that came into the hot folder. The FTP client also can be of immense use for development and maintenance of a busy website.
The web site looks good but if you look for real supoprt info you will find little content.
"Manual" is the help file again, lots of words, little content.
Try calling the support line: on hold for 30 seconds and then transferred to voice mail. This has happened on EVERY call I make to Support.
Lots of auto-responder tools to make it look like something is happening but very little contact from a live person. In a month of trying to get 2 critical bugs fixed I`ve received 2 emails. First asked for full log files (which the app won`t allow you to save) and the second stating that they never received the log files I sent 8 days earlier.
Summary: Ok product, has bugs, no tech support. If you want a cheap tool for random transfers this is it. If you have real money tied to the fiel transfer process spend some real money on a real tool.
